- Description
- Breda was conquered by Spain on the Dutch Republic in 1624. The city was recaptured in 1637 by an army led by Frederik Hendrik. This map, which is included in Joan Blaeus (1598-1673) Town Books of the Netherlands from 1649, shows the siege. The legends along the bottom of the map explain several siege machines around the city.
