- Description
- The print shows the complex of pleasure gardens of Enghien near Brussels. The plan is part of a series of prints commissioned by Nicolaas Visscher II (1649-1702) and engraved by Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708). The main item depicted in this print is the pavilion in the center of the parc. This was the cross-section of 14 large and small lanes of the parc. Each of these lanes had, by its vegetation of design, its own special character.
