Women in action! > Politics
The political arena has been an important place of action for feminists, because they initially tried to realise equality between men and women through legislation. The leftist political parties especially put the points of action of the women’s movement on their political agenda more and more frequently from the 1960s onwards.
Many posters come from political parties that included the women’s suffrage, the individualisation of social security or a breakthrough in the traditional role patterns in their programme. Posters printed by women’s parties, by parties with female party leaders, and calls from women’s organisations to at least vote for a woman in the elections have also been included.
