Bord met het Costermanoproer

- Description
- In Rotterdam leidde de ontdekking van de simpele smokkel van een vat wijn in 1690 tot het doodsteken van een belastingfunctionaris. Een van de smokkelaars, Cornelis Costerman, werd zonder duidelijk bewijs als dader aangewezen en publiekelijk onthoofd. De afbeelding op het bord toont de plundering van het huis van de gerechtsdienaar Van Zuijlen van Nijevelt. Hollandse kooplieden lieten enkele jaren later in China serviesgoed maken met onder meer als thema dit oproer.
