J.H. Leopold, Verzen (Verses). [First collected publication, edited by P.C. Boutens]. [The Hague, P.C. Boutens, September 1912]. VIII, 114, (8) p 16 x 24cm.
Boutens had 80 copies of this publication printed at his own expense by Eduard Verbeke in Bruges, all of them bound in vellum and with fastening ribbons.
The publication was based on the poems of J.H. Leopold that had appeared in the literary magazine De Nieuwe Gids, but Boutens had not asked for the author’s authorization to print them. Leopold was disgruntled by the alterations Boutens had made, which led to some commotion in literary circles.
