- Dit tableau is de eerste statie van de kruisweg die vanaf 1919 gemaakt werd voor de R.K. Louisekerk onder de bescherming van de Heilige Engelbewaarders, aan de Brandtstraat in Den Haag. Deze kerk is in 1981 afgebroken. Het tableau is gemaakt in sectiel-techniek, een techniek die door de Porceleyne Fles is ontworpen en op de wereldtentoonstelling van Parijs in 1900 werd geïntroduceerd. Vergelijkbaar met glas in lood, zijn de vormen van de tegels aangepast aan de kleurvlakken. De tegels werden gevormd uit laagjes van een op zeer hoge temperatuur te stoken klei, bijna als porselein. De kleurpigmenten werden met de kleimassa vermengd. Deze tegel is niet poreus en daardoor een onverslijtbaar en weerbestendig product, maar zeer arbeidsintensief.
