The fair also went to the Municipality of Simpelveld in 1941. From the start of the war there had been a continuous shortage of small change. In order for the fair to be successful the bar owners association decided to issue their own coupons, valid for the duration of the fair, from June 1 to 4, 1941. The fair was a great success but the central government was not amused when they later heard of this, and banned the issue of further coupons.
