The Nederlands fotoarchief (nfa) collection, since early 2003 part of the Nederlands fotomuseum, is accessible by author. The archives of the photographers represented here, are administrated as one entity. The original inventory numbers have been maintained as far as possible. Thematic groups have been created by means of digital cataloguing and indexing, while the objects themselves (negatives, prints and albums) are stored separately.

Cas Oorthuys's archive was transferred in 1990, Charles Breijer's archive in 1991 and Lex de Herder's in 2000.

From the three archives a selection was made of 4382 negatives and 163 album pages. 1080 6x6 centimetre negatives were selected from Charles Breijer's archive, 2650 6x6 centimetre negatives from Cas Oorthuys's archive. From Lex de Herder's archive 228 6x6 centimetre negatives, 423 negatives of various formats, and 3 albums were described and digitized.
